Lemont has now posted top-three finishes at the IHSA Cheerleading State Finals five consecutive seasons. The Indians collected runner-up placements in both 2007 and 2008 before winning the schools first-ever IHSA team state championship in any sport in 2009.
Lemonts 2010 varsity squad includes seniors Alyssa Baffoe, Sarah Clancy, Paige Rallis, Kelsey Wall, Katie Wallace and Crystal Wohead; juniors Annie Baffoe, Lindsay Bromberek, Jennifer Doornbos, Brittany Grad, Emily Marzo, Aileen McGraw and Keara McGraw; sophomores Sabrina Haggerty, Alex Lyewski and Nicole May; and freshmen Amber DAndrea and Katelyn Howe.
The Indians qualified for the 2010 IHSA State Finals by winning the Medium Division at the IHSA Belvidere Sectional on January 30. Their qualifying score of 93.47 was not only good enough for the sectional title, but was also the highest score of any Medium Division qualifier from any of the states five sectionals.
Lemont won its fourth consecutive SSC title on January 23. The SSC sent four squads to the IHSA State Finals; besides Lemont and Oak Forest, Tinley Park and Richards also qualified for the Medium Division state finals.
