Two-time All-SICA/SSC Volleyballer Rebecca Lourwood set for Lady Eagles in 2010!
The Robert Morris Women's Volleyball team has added a potent package of size and skill with the signing of 5'10 outside hitter and setter Rebecca Lourwood from Thornton Fractional South High School.
The daughter of Sally and Russell Lourwood of Lansing, IL, Rebecca helped lead Coach Kim Sands' Rebels to an Illinois High School Regional title in 2009. She was a two-time South Inter-Athletic Conference Association All-Conference selection as her team won more than forty matches during her junior and senior campaigns.
"Rebecca is the kind of dynamic athlete all coaches want for their programs," said RMU Head Coach Lauren joyce Hensel. "Her will and determination to improve will immediately help her teammates and the program. Her begin a southpaw is also a bonus for us as many teams do not get the chance to go against left-handers in practice. I'm especially excited about her ability to play multiple positions."
The newest Lady Eagle will pursue a degree in Hospitality Management in the University's Institute of Culinary Arts and School of Business Administration.
