Ryan signs with UIC

In his 17 seasons as varsity baseball coach at Richards High School, Brian Wujcik has started one player, Jon Ryan, all four years.
Jon is one of the best pure athletes weve had go through the program here. He also has the distinction of being the only four-year varsity starter in baseball, Wujcik said.
Ryan, now a senior, recently signed a national letter of intent to play baseball for the University of Illinois at Chicago.
An honor roll student, Ryan has earned numerous awards in baseball and football for Richards. Ryan played quarterback for the football team and earned several all-area awards, All-South Suburban Conference and, most impressively, was among four players to earn a place on the Illinois High School Association Class 6A All-Academic Team.
In baseball, Ryan won All-South Suburban Conference honors and team Most Valuable Player last year.
I think UIC is a great fit for Jon, and Im looking forward to watching him continue his baseball career there, Wujcik said.
